Distinctive works from French repertoire performed by two leaders in its interpretation, conducted by one of the current musical personalities of France

Ensemble Orchestral de Paris
Founded in 1978, the Ensemble orchestral de Paris with its 43 musicians is the leading chamber orchestra in France. The originality of its concerts, its intimate chamber music approach to repertoires, as well as its pursuit of new venues and challenges for teaching and cultural projects, all make it unique in the Parisian musical landscape.

With Joseph Swensen, Principal Guest Conductor and Artistic Advisor. the Ensemble has also forged an artistic partnership with the accentus chamber choir, directed by Laurence Equilbey.

In addition to its season at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and several Parisian concerts at Notre Dame Cathedral, Cité de la musique, Salle Pleyel and the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Ensemble’s reputation continues to grow both in and outside France, with its programme including: tours (Japan, Europe, South America, etc.); concerts (Lucerne, London, Bratislava, etc.) and leading festivals such as Schleswig Holstein, Folles Journées, Festival de Saint-Denis, Enescu Festival in Bucarest, La Roque d’Anthéron, Festival de Radio-France Montpellier, Festival Berlioz, etc.

Over the past 10 years, the Ensemble orchestral de Paris has also made a name for itself in the studio with over 20 recordings bearing eloquent testimony to its voice, oratorio, chamber orchestra, and contemporary music repertoires.

Coro Accentus
Under its conductor, Laurence Equilbey, who founded accentus in 1991, the choir is committed to promoting the vocal arts as widely as possible, with more than 60 concerts a year on average, a cappella or with orchestra, before an ever more diverse public.

The choir in residence at the Opéra de Rouen follows an active policy towards new music and already has more than 20 discs to its name. The aim is to produce recordings that are faithful to the character of the choir, combining the standard repertoire with the more recent.

Besides performing, not only in the great concert halls and music festivals of France and around the world, the members of accentus are keen to help young professional singers and take the art of singing into schools, hospitals, prisons and retirement homes

Laurence Equilbey
Laurence Equilbey is a conductor, music director (Accentus), and a well-known chamber choir. Actually respected for her demand and open artistic view, her work for 15 years conducted her among symphonic chiefs qualified for their valuation in oratorio or opera.

With Accentus, she keeps expressing the large repertory of vocal music and supports contemporary creation. Their many recordings are widely acclaimed. She was also awarded a “Disque d’Or” in 2008 for Transcriptions, and her interpretation of Haydn’s Sept Dernières Paroles du Christ with the Akademie für alte Musik Berlin is considered as a reference in the discography today.
She is also rewarded in Sweden as an international musical personality. In 2003 she is Laureate of the Grand Prix of international music critic, Chevalier de l’Ordre de l’Etoile Polaire, international music personality in Sweden, and in 2006 Cultures France elected her Créateur sans frontière for classical and contemporary music.
